Why building a connection with your wedding suppliers is key

Something I have learnt whilst not only working in this industry but life in general is that connections are key.

Whether that be supplier/supplier connections or clients/supplier relationships, the connection matters.

The industry, if you aren’t familiar with it, can be a minefield of information to grasp whilst trying to make sure every last detail of your wedding is planned, booked and organised.

As a supplier to the industry, it is my job to make sure that through a strong working relationship your are equipped with the information you need to make the right decision for you and your wedding:

1 - Planning your wedding flowers shouldn’t be a chore - Planning should be fun so when we chat, I want to know everything about the engagement, your pets, your kids, your families, the personal touches your including…everything! Everything helps me get to know you a bit more and hopefully make the planning a fun experience. I’m here to listen and recommend ideas based on what I know about the rest of your day as well as my experience of working with other suppliers including being familiar with venues.

2 - You don’t need to be an expert, that’s my job - It’s my job to know what’s available for what seasons, what’s going to work for your budget and liaise with other suppliers to ensure everything goes smoothly on the day. Even if you’re unsure on what you want, I can help support decisions by chatting through what’s available, help you maximise repurposing and making suggestions to make the budget go further.

Both of the above show (or hopefully show!) how and why I build connections with my clients. Through getting to know you and being transparent in our chats, I want you to feel confident in my ability to deliver.

To establish that connection, I have the following process in place:

1 - Enquiry form - I need all of the information on this form before I can reply and confirm availability. There are key elements on this form that help me make informed decision as to whether or not I would be able to deliver for you. For example, location.

2 - A customer journey - From initial enquiry, I have a process I follow for each client to ensure that we’re having the right discussions at the right time. Whether that be an initial intro call, or whether it’s meeting at the venue to draft out mock-ups and a detailed pricing proposal; each stage has a purpose and is unique to each wedding. For example, if you are just ordering bouquets we wouldn’t need a venue visit to discuss installations.

So the next time you meet with a supplier and they ask you lots of questions, know that this is why. We want to build connections.
