Why I decided to build a price guide for Bonnie Blooms
Let's talk about pricing! Specifically, wedding flower prices.
For a long time, I didn't publish any pricing online. I'd always been under the impression that pricing was a bit of a taboo subject and something that was best kept out of public view and for booked clients only.
To be fair, I never questioned it. It was just how I'd always done things. Whether that was because I thought it was the right thing to do or just because it was an industry narrative I’d picked up on and run with.
But then I started thinking about it from a customer's point of view, and I realised it's not how I like to shop.
Putting myself in your shoes
When I'm looking to buy something or book a service, one of the first things I want to know is how much it's going to cost me.
I’m an introvert, and conversations about the unknown fill me with fear, so I don't particularly want to fill in an enquiry form or arrange a call just to find out a price.
I'd much rather have a look at the prices, get an idea of what I can afford and decide how I want to play things from there.
And before I get hammered – I know pricing flowers isn’t one size fits all, but I wasn’t letting that stop me from doing what felt right for my business. (Sorry, not sorry!)
If it’s what I would expect, why wasn't I offering that same experience to people looking for wedding flowers? The only answer I could come up with was ‘in case I got it wrong’.
So, why share my prices?
I know wedding flowers aren't quite as straightforward as buying something off the shelf.
There are so many variables, from the flowers themselves to the scale of the designs and the work involved. It all varies from wedding to wedding.
My calculator isn’t an exact shopping list, and it doesn’t include everything I do.
And the biggest caveat of all is that these are my prices, based on my business.
They're influenced by the types of weddings I work on, my overheads and the way I run Bonnie Blooms. I worked my butt off going back through invoices, looking at common flower types, designs, costs, time, freelance costs and overheads because I wanted to give people the information I'd expect myself.
They're not intended to tell you what wedding flowers cost across the board, or what you can expect to pay with another florist. It’s a guide to help those looking for a wedding florist.
Why a pricing calculator...
Because I don’t do things by half. There was a lot of noise in the industry at the time I started developing this in early 2026, and I knew a landing page with a price list on it wasn’t going to cut it.
I wanted to give couples a way to work out what their wedding flowers might actually cost. It's all well and good knowing the price of a bridal bouquet, but what happens when you start adding bridesmaids' flowers, ceremony arrangements and table flowers into the mix?
And that’s the bit I wanted to make easier. So I spent a bit of time learning website coding, and after a tense few months of testing, the wedding flower pricing calculator was born.
You can choose the arrangements you're interested in, add quantities and get an estimated price range based on your selections. It automatically applies a logistics fee based on the designs you choose, and voilà – you’ll get a price range at the end! Yes, the price range can be quite broad, but it’s the nature of the beast.
It's not a formal quote, and I'll always need to know more about your plans before I can give you an accurate price, but it does give you a starting point.
You can have a play around, see how different options affect your budget and get a feel for what's realistic before you even get in touch.
You can choose to have the estimate emailed to you or just leave it on-screen. It’s entirely up to you!
So, what's changed?
I suppose I've just stopped doing something a certain way because that's how I thought it had to be done.
I know talking about money isn't everyone's cup of tea, and I completely respect that every business has its own approach to pricing. But for me, helping people and being transparent about my pricing makes sense.
If I'm spending my hard-earned money on something, I want to know what I'm potentially signing up for. And I don't see why someone enquiring about their wedding flowers would feel any differently. You're potentially about to invest thousands of pounds in your wedding flowers, and the fact that you're considering trusting me with that is a real honour! The least I can do is offer you a bit of transparency about what it might cost.
So, if you're planning your wedding and wondering what your flowers might cost, you can have a look at my wedding flower pricing calculator.
No enquiry needed. Just a chance to have a nosey at the prices and see what your estimated spend on flowers could look like.
